Based on a 1924 mystery novel by Agatha Christie, The Man in the Brown Suit was the eighth of Warner Bros. Television's Christie-inspired TV movies. Stephanie Zimbalist stars as an American tourist in Cairo (with Spain standing in for Egypt). She runs across a mysterious murder, and an odd encounter with a stranger; all this occurs even before she sets foot on a luxury liner with an all-suspect passenger manifest. It is established that the murderer, who is after a cache of valuable diamonds, is an internationally notorious criminal--but which one of the passengers is he (or she)? Maybe the villain romantic lead Simon Dutton, the "man in the brown suit" of the title...but don't discount such special guest suspects as Rue McClanahan and Tony Randall.

A man goes against the laws of God and man to help a friend, with unfortunate consequences, in this stylish drama from Turkish filmmaker Dervis Zaim. The story begins with a brief prologue set in the 13th Century, in which a calligrapher is completing a copy of the Koran and his assistant is sent out for ink so he can complete the project before an invading Mongol army attacks. Moving forward into the 21st Century, Selim Hodja (Serhat Kilic) is a descendent of the family that commissioned the Koran we saw in the preface. Selim has fallen on hard times and he wants to sell the rare holy book, and he turns to Ahmet (Mehmet Ali Nuroglu), an artist and calligrapher who has just finished a stretch in prison, for help in finding a buyer. Not willing to negotiate the black market for religious artifacts by himself, Ahmet turns to Cengiz (Mustafa Uzunyilmaz), a feared man in local organized crime circles, who says he can help them find a good price for the rare Koran. However, as Selim and Ahmet work more closely with Cengiz and his underlings, they're drawn deeper into a web of criminal behavior that they can't easily escape. Nokta (aka Dot) received its North American premiere at the 2008 Toronto World Film Festival.

This dark, brooding tale about inheritance and forbidden passion is set in a rambling English country home and stars an impressive Stewart Granger as a maverick estate manager. Granger is pitted against the best that British melodrama had to offer at the time, including Valerie Hobson in the title role, Maurice Denham and Michael Gough. The late 1940s saw many examples of this type of movie, set against a backdrop of tall iron gates, with stooped retainers and timely thunderstorms. It also has the benefit of an excellent screenplay and some taut direction from Marc Allégret. Yet it's the distinctive atmosphere that lingers in the memory.

Beautifully executed, this display of naked Asian male flesh is truly a lush Filipino delight with a sweet imagination. In the first fantasy a jealous gay teenager hails a taxi and the two men find comfort in each other's arms. Next a lonely homeowner calls the phone company to have his phone fixed. The two linemen fix a lot more than the phone. In the third episode a shy gay fan makes his way into the locker-room after a sweaty basketball game. He finds a new game underway in the shower room. Next up a pizza boy isn't having a good night until he delivers his next pie to a bored gay yuppie working late. And in the final fantasy a pair of lovers quarrel and they split for the night. One meets up with a horny security guard who offers his shoulder for the man to cry on. Told tastefully and quite erotically these fantasies make for a very unusual program we think you'll love.

Overall, this is a banal story of revenge, in which as the Black Mamba Shannon Tweed - famous actress erotic genre in second-rate American films early and mid-90s. Actually, for the sake of her adventures, and its only worth watching. In the tape she manages to seduce the whole family: the father, the mother, and, most interesting of their young son. Intimate scenes average frankness with nudity, but not pornography, with continuous background music, but also with the "original" actor dubbing Ohoven poisonous substances and so on. In general, leave a good impression. Director of the Scorned, Andrew Stevens, once played in a movie Massacre at Central High, made in 1976.

A bit of color for once, all the better to see the red flags with, not to mention the obvious aerial file footage of Warsaw. The story concerns Jozef Malesa, the mason or bricklayer of the title. He was once the darling of the party, the son of two old party activists, a worker of heroic reputation, his own commitment to The Movement unquestioned. He was chosen to be destined for great things, specially educated and pushed forward to positions of responsibility in the Party. Eventually he decides, because of the ethical pressures which he feels from the obstructionism of the bureaucracy from above, he asks to return to be a simple bricklayer. He is disturbed with the way the Party deals with people, especially their lack of direct contact. He thinks workers know better than the leadership many times but that's not the way power flows. He is uncomfortable with the compromises to his idealism. He remains committed to social justice and joins his friends for the May Day rally where his comfort and confidence in his place in society cause him to defer to no man, certainly no rat faced men in overcoats with red armbands. His great pleasure in life moreover is laying brick. He finds the work satisfying and fulfilling which is why he was such an obviously superior worker in the first place.

The Beast with Five Fingers (1946) is a horror film directed by Robert Florey and with a screenplay by Curt Siodmak, based on a short story by W. F. Harvey first published in the New Decameron. The original music score was composed by Max Steiner. The film was marketed with the tagline "A sensation of screaming suspense!" The Beast with Five Fingers was Lorre's last film with Warner Brothers. Siodmak had originally written the film for Paul Heinried who turned it down. The piece much played throughout the film is Brahms' transcription for left hand of the chaconne from Johann Sebastian Bach's Violin Partita in D minor, performed by Warner Bros. pianist Victor Aller. The hands of pianist Ervin Nyíregyházi are shown playing the piano. The film was remade in 1981 by director Oliver Stone as The Hand.

When I was a kid I always used to like to read the picture books, then they made them into a TV series on CITV. This was actually quite a good book based cartoon. Wally is a guy in a red and white fleece with a dog dressed the same. Basically every episode, when he felts like it (obviously all the time) he would get his magic walking stick and create a vortex that would transport him to another world, e.g. stone age, spooky, under the sea, jungle, etc. Wizard Whitebeard would be around to see how he was using the walking stick or how he was in the adventure, and the villain (I can't remember his name) in the yellow and black fleece would always try to steal the walking stick. But the main part of the show (hence the title) was when the audience at home have to spot Wally in a freeze frame (because he disappears for some reason), just like in the books. Very good!
